Desire
The uncontrollable desire to eat sweets is something we have all experienced. The way we give in to their colours and sugar is simultaneously irresistible and delicious.
In our new collection, Desire, Maria Frering explores the parallels between eating sweets and wearing jewellery. How our brain reacts to certain colours and textures is something we find fascinating. Our brains are captivated by colour and texture, and the mere surrender to beauty triggers the release of dopamine, bringing about a fleeting yet real happiness.

In this new collection, we present a mix of shapes and colours that evoke the sweets we grew up with in Brazil. Bubblegum pink dominates the shape of a meringue (or “merengue”, in Portuguese), while citrine recalls caramel, almost dissolving on the tongue. One of the earrings is shaped like the iconic Brazilian sweet ‘Dadinho’, or ‘Dice’, but is coloured with all the hues of tutti-frutti flavour. In another piece, blue and green feldspars twist sumptuously, imitating the pattern of a classic swirl lollipop.

It’s impossible to resist the enchanting world of sweets. We hope you delight in this collection.
